A Day at the Zoo

Today we went to the Los Angeles Zoo! The kids LOVE LOVE LOVE animals, and we had a blast even though it rained off and on for most of the day!

The first animal we saw was an alligator that had been released into the wild and then recaptured in order to put it in a habitat where it could survive.

Kangaroos are so cool. This one started hopping right after I put the camera away! Little stinker...

My little gorillas! We enjoyed the Gorilla Campo. It has been at the LA Zoo since 2007, and it was well worth our trip to see them! The gorilla is one of Zack's favorite animals. When we first picked him up from his Pelican, he was joking with us about a gorilla being on our heads! He still remembers that.

So are they black with white stripes or white with black stripes??
The kids kept asking when we are going on a safari - a real one in Africa. I so wish I could pack up and take them. Wouldn't that be cool? Zack has an atlas that he reads and studies often. I was pleased that today he knew what continents on which most of the animals live.
My babies are not babies anymore.

Check out teh gorillas!!!!

This was the coolest exhibit ever!!!

This guy was just hanging around right in front of us!

She's crazy about her brother...!

Gorgeous...I love it!

Tigers are so exquisite! This guy was putting on a show for us. He pranced around in front of us several times. What a beauty!

Sophia was trying to see the snow leopard but instead she saw someone very familar!

I let the kids read the map and lead the way for most of the day!

What a huge wingspan!!!

I love poppies!

The first pic I got of the "gorilla daddy"!
We had a great day at the zoo! When we left, the skies were blue once again!

I haven't been blogging lately because life has just been too busy! The kids, however, are doing well. Both are enjoying softball/baseball. Sophia had her opening day last Saturday, but I forgot to take my camera! Next game, I'll have it for sure!
That's all for now! I hope you enjoy the pictures...
