The 4th of July 2009

On the 4th of July, we went to lunch at an old Brea favorite - Carnitas.  Then we went to see the newest Transformers movie.  It was a nice peaceful day...  We went to the The Brea Skatepark where the kids skateboarded while we relaxed in the shade.  

That evening we went to meet Julia and some of her friends for some down home 4th of July festivities.  We played catch, the kids skateboarded, wrestled and chased each other.  This followed by fireworks that scared us!  

This was the one and only firework that the kids held after Zack's misfired and lightly burned his leg.  He was done, and Gina and I were even more so!
