I forgot to blog about the funniest conversation! Sophia and I were at T.J. Maxx looking for a new shirt for her. This girl has such a long torso that she is wearing crop tops now, and she gets frustrated when the top of her panties show when she raises her arms! (I am sure that will change!) Anyhow, I was looking for a cheap but cute shirt for her when I stumbled across an adorable dress.
The dress was brown with large pink print and about an inch of pink taffeta around the bottom. It tied behind her neck and was pretty much backless. I thought it would look cute with a little white sweater for Easter or something of the sort. So, I decided to try it on her. In the dressing room, this was the conversation:
Mom: Let's try this on to see if it looks cute.
Sophia: Okay, let me take my shirt off.
Mom: Okay, you can keep your pants on, and we'll just see how it fits on top.
Sophia: No, my pants are itchy.
Mom: Okay, let's hurry. (I put the dress over her head and began to tie it behind her neck.)
Sophia: (as she notices it is backless)MOM! I can't wear this! I don't even have a boyfriend yet!
Needless to say, the dress is still hanging on the shelf! I imagine someday this conversation will go something like this:
Mom: You are not wearing that out of this house!
Sophia: Fine, I'll change and put it in my bag!
Mom: Give that to me now. You don't even have a boyfriend!
Sophia: Excuse me? I have had a boyfriend since Sophomore year. I am a senior, mom!
Mom: I still do not want you wearing that!
Sophia: Mom, NONE of the other girls at USC have moms telling them what and what not to wear!!!
Mom: You have a great point, and I did try to put you in that little hoochie brown dress when you were four!!!
Little girls grow up way too fast! I think I'll stick to a nice white pair of keds and Gymboree as long as I can!

That is the funniest thing - even four year old girls know about boys! :-)
