New Hair, Tattoos, Shoes, Unspeakables, Good Grades, and Drama!!!

I finally caved and found a new hair stylist. I figured that having Amy do my hair from CA was not reasonable as she might charge me for gas! So, I searched online for the salon in Frisco, TX with the best website. Yep, just random process really! Then I prayed that the stylist I got was cutting edge. Not sure what I think cutting edge is, but I wanted someone with CA looking hair. They told me her name was Misty. That name could go either way. I could be dealing with a very old fashioned stylist or a trendy one. It was nail biting for sure, but I am happy to tell you that when I walked in and saw Misty, I was very pleased. She is about 30 and has four kids, but the top of her hair is blonde, the middle is purple and the bottom is chestnut. I was like BINGO exactly what I was looking for! Then I found out she is the color pro at the salon. YES! So I told her to do as she wished. I walked out with what you see below, and I LOVE it!!!!

And, as an added bonus when I was looking for my checkbook, I glanced down and saw her appointment book. On the cover she had taped and highlighted in bright colors verses from the Bible. She is a Christian!!! I love Christians who arent' afraid to have purple hair! LOL

And if the multicolored hair isn't enough for all you Baptists out there, here's the scandalous tattoo!! LOL It is my one and ONLY! Unless I adopt more kidlets at some point! It is meaningful, and yes, it is permanent! I am glad on both counts!!! It hurt like heck, but I'm glad I did it.

And here is Stepha's new hair! PINK highlights! They look AWESOME!!!! Not punk or anything just plain awesome!!!!! And, lastly her tattoos! They rock! She will be getting one more on her other shoulder and a bumper tattoo of a series of stars. I vote for my face!!! LOL

And, here are Mike and Zack's new shoes!!!! They are the latest Jordans! Zack is very into basketball clothing and even told his teacher to check out his Jordans today! For all of you who know me, you know this is not his only pair. He has three pairs of Jordans now! You know shoes must match the outfit!

And, lastly the unspeakables. It has taken a bit of time to teach Zack and Sophia that "tooting" is private! So, the house rule is that it is allowed in the bathroom and in their own bedrooms. Well as you know well, sometimes a grown up even needs to do the unspeakable in their own home. For us, that means following house rules until the kidlets are old enough to know when it is okay to let one go and when it is not appropriate. Oh my, did I just say "let one go"???? Check Mike out! It's the real deal. The kids do go all the way in the bathroom and close the door, but you know boys, and we have to have fun sometimes!!!! The male influence is alive and well for Zack, Josh and Ken in this house!!!

That brings me to the end of my scanalous post! Sophia is doing well. I just haven't taken any recent pics of her!!! She goes around singing her little heart out!
Kenny got all As and Bs on his report card for the FIRST TIME EVER! Way to go KENNY!!! TEXAS and your new life out here has done you well! I am very proud of him!
And, Josh go all As and Bs too! He also wrote and turned in a paper that said the following:
"Some people are shy like me, but I like to dance and sing." "I especially like to dance and sing to Hairspray and High School Musical Songs." "It is so much fun." The teacher gave him a great big purple check at the top.
Auntie Deana will be saving this for him. One of two things will happen, he'll kill me for saving it OR he'll treasure it as his first acknowledgment that drama was his passion.
Blessings to all!

Number 3 - great stories! Love the hair, D! And Stepha looks great, too. The tats look nice, but painful! Ouch!

The kids are so cute - WAY TO GO Josh and Kenny. Good on both of you!

You ladies look fabulous! I was afraid to lose my CA look when I moved too! I think I am still cool, but that is debatable of course. :D

Our good news is that our dossier will be submitted to the SDA in a couple weeks (there are all kinds of changes going on there) and we should travel to go get our 2 or 3 kids about next March, if all goes well. We can't wait.

Thanks so much for sharing all your news, good and bad, on your site. It is so inspiring to see a Christian family that is thriving with two newly adopted children in it. Amazing that those kids were not there at this time last year. You are doing such an awesome job and they are clearly soaking up all the love and support a family can bring.

In Him,
Krista
