Fun in the Sun

Well today, we visited Crossroads Community Church of Frisco, Texas. The music was great! The pastor even played the bass. The church was good, but it was a bit too small for my little family. The childrens church is super small so there weren't classes for each age group yet. I feel the kids would not learn as much as they can in a more established church so hi ho hi ho, it is off to another church visit I go (next Sunday).

And, here are some pics of the chores I wrote about yesterday. Josh actually likes his chores as he chose them! :) Zack is under Josh's tutalage as you see. Soon Zack will take over some of Josh's chores as he is eager to have a longer list of responsibilites. Josh wants me to be sure to give him chores for a seven year old once he turns seven!

And, here they are, the Texans!!!! Check 'em out in their Texas gear!

We had another day in the park! The boys LOVE riding their bikes, and Sophia was learning how to balance. She was determined to make it all the way around this balance "beam." I was excited to see her drive and focus!

And, here you see Zack working on tightening his own training wheel. He was very proud and asked me to take the pick of him, "fixin' it"!

Here you see Sophia holding her own on the basketball court! She begs to go and play with the boys! And, after a couple of hours at the park, the kids all need a serious bubble bath!!!!! We are used to the humidity, but we are well aware that we need baths just about every time we come in from outdoors!

Tomorrow is a big day! The kids start school and Stepha and I will go to the college to enroll. I will be taking the Texas teacher certification tests and enrolling in the credential program here which can be finished at community college!!! :) I can get a job teaching once I pass the two Texas tests and am enrolled. I do not need to finish the program to secure a teaching job. I am, however, prepared to substitute teach until getting a permanent position. I did not make this big move without enough "security" to last me a year plus. So, I am not worried. All of the other security issues have been covered as well so no worries about me or the kiddos. We are well cared for and driven to succeed here in the Lone Star State.
By the way, I like it here!

I am starting student-teaching in the morning! (Can't sleep of course.) I am so excited. I never was able to finish my credential in California because it was too expensive to be student-teaching and not getting paid.

Good luck to you and your sister and all the kids tomorrow. I am jealous that all you have to do is take a couple tests. I just spent 3 quarters in the program and now I have to student-teach until December. It should work out perfectly with adoption timing though. We are hoping to travel sometime early next year.

What great pics... I have been out of town for the last few days and had to catch up.

We live in TX now (I live in Lantana which is near Argyle on Mapquest and about 20 miles west of you)...I was only able to last in CA for 1 year. I packed up the child and told the husband he was welcome to join us back in TX. :) Coming from TX it was far too expensive to think of raising children in CA and I have no idea how anyone ever affords a house. I have nothing against CA... my in-laws still live there and some of our best friends are there, so we visit frequently. It seems like we get to see more of CA now b/c when we lived there, we had to work so much to afford it that we had no time. Plus, where we lived, people would get home, close their garage door and never be seen outside again. Just not my cup of tea.

The YMCA is a great place to start for sports for the kiddoes. Also, there will be more organized sports through Fricso. The schools are usually very good about sending out information about sign-ups, etc, so check with teachers or the secretary at school.

I also found out there is a Neiman's Last Call in the paking lot in Allen where the outlet is... so it may be worth your time. Let me know what you think of Sam Moon.

Also... tractor pulls... :) you are getting the entire TX experience!

Oh yeah, beat Heather and Allie! And Wanda!

Chores are good (I forgot to say that before). I was in charge of the dishwasher and now am known as the "expert." I can pack anything in there, baby!

The kids look great, but Kenny seemed not that excited to take the pics. But seriously, the RANGERS? Anything but the Texas Rangers! You've got to have some Cali loyalty!

I love the pics! Can't wait to hear about school...
